Acquisition Marketing Manager (Display)

This is an opportunity to manage user acquisition and millions of dollars of spend for multiple LP digital businesses. This is a full-time position out of our Delray Beach office. Remote may be available for the right team member.

You’ll focus on display -- optimizing existing successful campaigns and developing a comprehensive marketing strategy to acquire new members and traffic. This is not “just” a media buyer role, this is an entrepreneurial position that requires a combined passion for understanding consumers and pushing the boundaries of your responsibilities to help grow the business as a whole.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of experience actively managing programmatic spend in a performance-driven environment and is highly motivated to see his/her strategies succeed and scale.

Our entire team is very hands-on, including the founders. This role is also hands-on.

THE ROLE - TL;DR

You’ll be personally responsible for driving continued optimization of display campaigns through performance analysis, ad copy testing, placement and audience management, and quality score improvement via Google Adwords (GDN), Facebook Ads, MediaMath, other major display networks/DSPs, and potentially other channels as opportunities arise.

You have holistic knowledge of the programmatic advertising space and are an expert in direct response. Plus you have advanced experience using Google Analytics to guide decision-making.

Important: Acquisition is the top of the funnel and vital to the success of our businesses. As a digital media company we are always “open.” This position will require you to monitor media buys every day including weekends.

You’re deeply passionate about understanding the ins and outs of the programmatic marketplace, different ad placements/units, the psychology of our members, and attribution across multiple touch points.

You’re innately a “numbers person” and completely comfortable in Excel (pivot tables, data manipulation, V lookups). You believe in meticulously checking the accuracy of your data and are slightly OCD about making sure tracking and attribution are set up properly.

You’ll analyze large sets of data to quantitatively assess performance and translate anecdotal or qualitative data into recommendations and plans for revising the media mix.

You understand tracking technology. You know how and what you want to track and are comfortable working with platform tags and pixels to make it happen.

You’ll work closely with Product leads to find which campaigns are driving the most positive ROI and what the member LTV from each campaign is.

You are also passionate about creative testing and landing page optimization and you have experience successfully working with designers to see your visions come to life. You enjoy testing the consumer experience firsthand.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Own the end-to-end setup of programmatic campaigns in Adwords (GDN), Facebook, and other channels

• Create actionable reports using Google Analytics and our backend analytics platform to optimize strategies

• Find new opportunities to increase scale, decrease cost and increase ROI

• Drive and optimize key traffic and revenue metrics including revenue, CPM, CPA, CTR, conversion rates

• Resolve operational issues through quick thinking, problem solving and appropriate action

• Work closely with Product and Design teams to create and execute new campaigns

• Improve conversion rates on landing pages

• Research, identify and evaluate new publishers (direct websites and networks) to buy advertising space from on a CPM, CPC and CPA pricing basis

• Maintain and improve quality score

• Streamline and automate processes where possible

• Efficiently leverage BI tools and pure old Internet research to understand the marketplace

• Act as primary programmatic point of contact for both internal and external stakeholders and push to make sure we’re getting what we need to grow

• Set goals using previous performance metrics, competitive research and online trends and do everything you can to meet them

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Minimum: At least 2 years of hands-on experience being personally responsible for display media buying in a performance-driven environment at scale

• Trained and experienced within DSPs, knowledge o fDMPs functionality

• Extensive experience with Google Adwords and Analytics

• Ability to aggressively collect, analyze and respond to data related to the performance of our key marketing metrics

• Strong business acumen and enthusiasm about identifying trends and marketing opportunities

• Excellent Excel skills and ability to effectively present and communicate your analysis

• Deep understanding of online advertising space and impact of current events, competition, consumer behavior on the marketplace

• Bachelor’s degree in Business or equivalent experience

• Results-driven with exceptional detail and knowledge around online advertising metrics

• Resourceful and enjoys overcoming challenges

• Excellent analytical and writing skills

• Extremely detail oriented

• Understanding of different conversion tracking platforms and methods

• Thrives in a fast-paced environment and can balance multiple tasks simultaneously in a startup atmosphere

• Experience in creative ideation and prototyping of user experiences

• Entrepreneurial; takes ownership and creatively gets things done

• General high technical aptitude

• Over-communicates both internally and with our external partners

AVAILABILITY

Our normal team work hours are roughly 10am-5pm ET M-F. However, user acquisition is a mission-critical part of our business and you'll be expected to ensure performance including earlier in the morning, later at night, and on weekends.

Additionally, we are a distributed digital team and there may be late/early meetings due to different time zones. We always try to work with everyone's schedules but at times there may be meetings earlier in the morning and later at night.

We communicate throughout the day using Slack and several times a week using Google Hangouts. You'll be expected to actively participate in these discussions and be an active, awesome contributing member of our team!
